Generally, the display period cannot be adjusted. However, if the code is only displayed for a few seconds, it might mean that Google Authenticator was not set up correctly.
Please check the time settings on your smartphone. They must be set to “Automatic”.
If they are already set to “Automatic”, change the settings briefly to “Manual” and then switch them back again.

You do not receive an SMS. When you set up the two-step authentication process, you downloaded an app onto your smartphone, tablet or desktop PC. The code is then displayed to you in this app.

Setup
You don’t need to have a smartphone.
Alternatively, you can use a tablet. The setup works in the same way as for smartphones.
You can also add a browser extension to your Internet browser. We recommend you work with Google Chrome. The extension “Authenticator” by sneezry.com (Chrome web store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/authenticator/bhghoamapcdpbohphigoooaddinpkbai?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog&hl=en-GB) can replace the smartphone function.
If you log on to Google Chrome with your Google account, you can use Authenticator and SmartBusiness on any PC – as long as you always log on to this service using your Google account.
